 6-weeks course: Self-Compassion and Joy

This 6-week Self-Compassion and Joy course is based on the empirically supported 8-week MSC program designed to increase the ability to meet yourself caringly and kindly in challenging situations as well as strengthen your resilience. Additionally, several aspects from James Baraz's acclaimed program Awakening Joy will also be incorporated.

 

So if you want to learn to be less hard on yourself (maybe even treat yourself as kindly as you treat a good friend), find more peace and practice joy this course is for you. During the course we will practice and cultivate joy, calmness and resilience as well as to have a different and more constructive relationship with our thoughts.

In order to find joy, peace and well-being in life it is important that we both learn to meet ourselves with care and kindness when we are challenged as well as learning to practice and cultivate joy. We know that positive and pleasant experiences are not automatically registered in the brain. They must be trained!  On the other hand, negative experiences and critical thoughts easily stick and register in the brain. In this course we therefore focus on building new neural networks of well-being in the brain - both by  meeting ourselves kindly and well as by practicing joy and gratitude.

Research shows that Mindful Self-Compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, less anxiety, depression, and stress. Over the course of 6 weeks, you will have the opportunity to gain a good insight into parts of the MSC course.
