Morning Meditations
One on One with Young people
- training in Self-compassion, Mindfulness and Joy
Perhaps you are experiencing that your child’s thoughts are taking over – maybe “worry thoughts,” “what-if” thoughts, “what-do-others-think-of-me” thoughts, or other disturbing thoughts keep showing up.

Individual mindfulness sessions with teenagers help your child to:

-
Develop a better relationship with themselves and their negative thoughts
-
Treat themselves with the same kindness they would show a dear friend in a similar situation
-
Reduce stress
I work with teenagers – typically in the early stages of anxiety – at a point where, as a parent, you may not yet feel ready to send your son or daughter to a psychologist, but you still feel that something needs to be done.
Below you will find a testimonial from a mother whose daughter struggled with going to school:
“It was incredibly difficult to see my youngest daughter in a situation where anxiety and discouragement took over to such a degree that it was hard for her to get through a normal school day or meet her friends in her free time. I so badly wanted to help her but felt powerless and quickly realized that my daughter needed professional support. One might wonder why neither the school nor the doctor could refer us to someone with expertise in this area, and I am so grateful that a friend recommended Dorte Koustrup from Mind the Busy Mind.

My daughter met with Dorte once a week for a period of about three months. Already after the first few sessions she felt noticeably better and found great support in the tools Dorte gave her to manage the ‘fear of anxiety’ and get through the school day. Today, my daughter is happily herself again, and I feel that the process with Dorte has made her stronger and better equipped to handle the setbacks she will inevitably encounter as a teenager in the future. I will be forever grateful and warmly recommend Dorte Koustrup to anyone who needs professional support to guide their teenager through a difficult period marked by anxiety.”

The sessions take place in Østerbro. Occasionally, walk-and-talk sessions are used, and in some cases online sessions are offered.
